The Kaminski house is a year-round home
with a vacation attitude. Sitting high above Wellfleet's Burton Baker Beach on Indian Neck, the
house offers a panoramic view of the beach below and along the Cape's inner coastline as it
circles Cape Cod Bay. There's a town-owned and maintained path connecting Samoset Road to Hiawatha
Road. It has railroad ties set into the hill for easier footing, and from there it's a short trek down the
short end of a dirt road to the beach access. Many people feel that Burton Baker Beach is Wellfleet's most
beautiful and welcoming beach, with a large sandy delta forming a little inlet that freshens
with every high tide to create a natural wading pool for children.
Not to be left out, adults have a large, sandy stretch of swimming
beach , also suitable for beaching small boats brought over from the
launching ramp at the town pier. One might consider this house as
similar to the fishing boats that leave Wellfleet harbor every day.
The master bedroom is set atop the rest of the house, just as the
wheelhouse is set above a boat. This 33' long room has a queen bed,
its own living room with TV and deck., and sweeping views of Cape Cod
Bay. The house has four bedrooms (window AC in two bedrooms) and
two baths, phone, basic cable TV, DVD, WiFi, washer and dryer,
dishwasher, furnished deck and patio, and an enclosed shore shower
with hot and cold water. It has an open floor plan and wall-to-wall
windows to take full advantage of the view.
