About sheets and towels: In Massachusetts, you must provide your own
launderable linens.* If you are unable to bring them with you, there
are commercial linen rental services available. Some will even deliver
them to our office for you to pick up when you check in, and allow you
to return them to us when you check out. Please click on our blog,
Martie's Clipper Ship, and click "Tips" in the index for more
information.

This is a state law, part of the tax code that governs Room Occupancy
Tax. At the present time, privately owned cottages and homes are exempt
fron tax if they do not provide the same "transient" services as motels
and other commercial accommodations. Services include providing
launderable linens, providing cleaning during occupancy, providing
management services (you buy replacement light bulbs and toilet paper,
for example), and renting only for periods of at least a week.
