The Spieker cottage is on a dead end single lane road off Route 6 in
North Eastham. Access to beaches, shopping, etc., is by entering the
highway and exiting again, but bikers and walkers can cut through
behind the Catholic church to get to Campground Beach, about a mile
away on foot. The cottage was once part of a colony; unlike most
others, these cottages were moved to be on full-sized house lots and
the buyers have no condo restrictions. The original cottage is now the
kitchen/dining area, a typical 50s shower bath, and two small bedrooms,
a standard double and catty-cornered bunk beds. The new addition has a
large livingroom with sliders to a two-sided wrap-around deck and a
spiral staircase up to a large, sunny sleeping loft (skylight over the
bed) with a queen-sized bed and waist high railing that looks down into
the livingroom. This is the master bedroom and has its own bath with
modern fiberglass shower. |
